caffeine chronicles | 03: holsem coffee

Hello friends! Over the next few days, I'll be updating the blog with some of last year's coffee shop visits. Today our featured cafe is Holsem Coffee over at North Park. I went there sometime in September to have a nice long chat with my friend Jahara, who went to the same church that I attended back in the Philippines. It's been years since I last saw her and we ended up connecting in San Diego of all places.

Here's a blurry pic of Jahara with the cutest matchstick printed shirt.

Holsem offers unique drinks and an assortment of baked goods made with wholesome ingredients. If I remember correctly, my friend had a cappuccino. I tried The Woods (espresso with maple syrup, nutmeg, sea salt, maple bitters, homemade hazelnut milk). IT WAS SO GOOD. I mean, come on, look at that ridiculous list of ingredients!

I really like their space. High ceilings, clean and minimalist decor, friendly service. It's great coffee at a great price.

Will definitely come back for their cold brew and maybe try a pastry next time.
